Hailing from the war torn Bosnia and Herzegovina, and surviving that region’s tumultuous conflict, has given kolorit (a.k.a Milos Radoicic) a keen appreciation for his adopted surroundings of the Big Apple’s urban jungle. Much of his photography shows a knack for finding a vitality in the seemingly mundane aspects of street life, while placing accents on both the symmetry and texture inherent in the scenery. kolorit is featured in the latest issue of CMYK magazine - vol. 43, available for sale in our local Chapters, Barnes Nobles etc. Inside one can find 36 pages of fresh ideas never seen in print before - photography, print advertising, product packaging, logos, posters, illustration and photography. Nearly 120 award winning pieces from close to 100 aspiring creative professionals. I am quite proud to be amongst other featured members in this issue.

Since there is so much talent, creativity and imagination emerging from art schools, making 25 picks was tough. Light and composition is at the heart of photography, and I was very excited to see so much emphasis on those aspects. Digital methods give us the opportunity to enhance what we see and to add elements. But photographers - especially commercial photographers - must first take advantage of what is in front of the camera. In addition, so many pieces had emotional power - strength, angst, wit, warmth, and wonder. The maturity and sensitivity in these shots was impressive.
